About Floorwalk
Our story
Like many young families in Western Australia, we're building our first home. And like everyone who's been through it, we've learned that the wait between signing the contract and getting the keys is long.
I'm an engineer, and I work with plans every day. When I look at a floor plan, I can see the rooms: how big they'll feel, how the light will fall, where the furniture goes. My wife couldn't. She'd look at the same page and see lines and numbers. It was hard to tell whether the living room would feel spacious or cramped, whether the kitchen island would crowd the walkway, or what "4.4 × 4.6" actually meant for the master bedroom. And she's not alone. Most people find it hard to picture a home from a flat drawing, yet that's what we're all asked to make some of the biggest decisions of our lives from.
So, partly out of excitement and partly to make the wait go faster, I built our home in 3D so we could walk through it together. Seeing her stand in our future kitchen in a VR headset and finally get it was the moment Floorwalk began.
What we're here to do
Floorwalk is a small, family-owned WA business. We want to help other people and families experience their home before it's built:
- See it properly. Walk through every room at true scale and understand the space in a way a plan can't show.
- Decide with confidence. When you're facing hundreds of choices, from layouts to finishes, being able to stand in the space makes those decisions clearer and a little less exhausting.
- Share the journey. Show family and friends around your new home long before the slab is poured, and keep sharing it throughout the build.
How we work
We've kept it simple and safe. Send us your plans and we'll do the rest. There are no hidden fees and no ongoing subscriptions. Your model stays secure on our platform, and your plans are disposed of once your model is uploaded.
We can't wait to help you walk through your new home.
